The Jordaan is a dense patch of small-scale streets and canals peppered with interesting shops, galleries, charming 'hofjes' and inviting brown cafes. Quirky and characterful, with an intimate, easy-going atmosphere of it's own. It was built for workers at the same time when the 'Grachtengordel' (Canal-rings) were completed.
Our house was originally built by a master carpenter and his family and later rebuilt by a printersfamily. The story is told by the old, picturesque craftsmanship tile in our gable. It is a historic part of the Jordaan since 1661. When Bed and Breakfast Jordaan opened it's doors 340 years later it was skilfully renovated with help of the Amsterdam Gable-sign Fund.
All Amsterdam tourist sites and Central Station are at walking distance and almost all can also be reached by direct bus/tram -lines from bus/tramstop 'Marnixplein' at 250m. from our house.
With your invoice you will receive: Our 'How to get there...'-file for arrivals
by Public Transport, cab or car. It also includes information on parking facilities.
With the confirmation you will also receive detailed information on museumticktes,
combination offers etc.

For breakfast on Saturday and Sunday during high season, we offer a list of nice places surrounding our B&B where you can have a lovely breakfast.
While serving breakfast we always have plenty of time to answer your questions or, on request, suggest things to do or places to eat. Also on any other hour of the day and in the weekends you are welcome to contact us. Our B&B rooms are in the samen structure as our homes so also a very late arrival is never a problem.
B&B Jordaan is usually run entirely without outside help so you always know whom to address and we know for sure that everything is as clean and complete as you may expect it to be.
We try to offer a good balance between privacy, attention and help. We do speak
several languages (English, French, German, Dutch, Spanish and a little Portuguese)
and know our city well. We are looking forward to share our knowledge with you.
[RENOVATED]
We recently completed a major renovation of our tradtional home. We kept te good part of the
old like the Gable-tile, steep roof, tiled floors and paneldoors in traditional colours of 1661.
We built a new rear gable with big windows overlooking the inner gardens and new bathrooms in traditional style of Terrazzo floors and 'Mosa-yellows'. We used as much ecological materials as possible creating a healthy atmosphere for the builders, you and us.
Of course we also implemented all safety requirements and fire regulations and, although a B&B in Amsterdam is not obliged to do so, the fire equipment is tested every year. Together with new solar panels on the roof we believe we are very ready for 2020 and beyond.
We hope that, also you, will appreciate the result and our personal approach :) .
